LMP, Trimotors, and JVR Foundation donate 5 Bajaj RE Units to DILG

QUEZON CITY – Through the generous donation of the Jesus V. del Rosario Foundation, the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP)—in partnership with Trimotors Technology Corp.—turned over five (5) Bajaj RE Tricycles to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). At the turn-over ceremonies held at the PNP National Headquarters, Camp Crame, Quezon City last 15 July 2020, DILG Secretary Eduardo M. Año received the tri-wheeled vehicles from LMP National President Mayor Luis “Chavit” Singson, Trimotors Technology Corp. Vice-President and COO Mr. Raul Jay R. Manglapus III, and JVR Foundation Chairman and President Mr. Jaime C. del Rosario.

The Bajaj RE is a three-wheeled, fuel-efficient motorized vehicle capable of seating three (3) passengers and carrying loads of up to 300 kilograms. Compared to typical tricycles, the Bajaj RE features a more versatile and customizable set-up making it more responsive to the demands of the ongoing COVID-19 situation and the “New Normal.”

The event also offered the opportunity for the LMP to put forward its support to the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 through a resolution from its National Directorate. Further, the LMP furnished the DILG a statement expressing its support to Constitutional Reforms institutionalizing the “Mandanas-Garcia Ruling” and removing protectionist economic restrictions. The statements were received by DILG Sec. Año joined by DILG Usec. Jonathan E. Malaya and CoRe Movement National Chairperson Atty. Vicente Homer B. Revil.

The held ceremony is a testament of LMP’s continued commitment and support to the national government’s efforts in addressing the current pandemic and strengthening the autonomy of local government units. MJM
